🎣Isabella's Weekly Fishing Event

Last updated
Isabella hosts a weekly fishing competition for Cat Town villagers. This event allows players to test their angling skills and compete for prizes.
Isabella allows the player to purchase a Fishing Rod. The Fishing Rod is a one time purchase of $25 USD worth of $KIBBLE. All proceeds are burned out of circulation forever.
A fishing rod can also be obtained through a referral from a fellow Cat Town Villager.
The fishing competition is a weekly event that starts on Saturday 00:00 UTC, and finishes on Monday 00:00 UTC.
There are four times, each with unique fish (all UTC).
Morning: 6:00-12:00 UTC
Afternoon: 12:00-18:00 UTC
Evening: 18:00 - 00:00 UTC
Night: 00:00-6:00 UTC
Players will be able to fish as much as they want when Isabella is in town.
Players enter the fishing competition to catch fish. Fish are unidentified when caught, but can be identified (minted) at any time. Once the user's barrel is full (10 fish) the player will be prompted to identify (mint) their unidentified fish.
Not only fish can be caught - players will occasionally find rare treasure that can be sold directly for KIBBLE. These items are also tradable and may prove useful for something else in the future.
There are future plans to fish up other items and equipment for your cat that can be used during adventures.
Fish are transferrable NFTs that have several traits including weight and species.
It costs $0.20 USD worth of KIBBLE to mint a single fish, therefore if you mint the maximum of 10 fish, the KIBBLE cost will be $2.00 USD worth of KIBBLE (Not including the NFT mint fees which is $0.05 USD per fish) - any funds raised from this process contribute towards the fishing competition prize pool.
You can fish as many times as you want in a weekend. The batch mint process is to circumvent NFT minting limitations.
You may also fish up rare Soulbound NFTs, awarding achievements, which will unlock Isabella's quest line when adventures release.
You can find any unidentified fish in your inventory. These fish will be useable in the future as part of crafting recipes, fetch quests and sellable on the open market.

When taking part in the fishing competition your character will also be earning fishing skill. Fishing skill can be spent on talents such as the Big Barrel, Tasty Bobber, Snooze Cruise and Double Dip.
Isabella is the first NPC we're introducing that will have a reputation system. This reputation system is part of a standardized approach to awarding loyalty to particular villagers where players will be able to earn rewards and prestigious achievements.
1 Fish minted = 1 Reputation for Fishing.
Winning the fishing competition is simple - catch the largest fish and you'll win the grand prize! However, other competitors shouldn't be discouraged as there are plenty of treasures to find that will ensure skilled fishers are rewarded.
There may be winners for other categories in the future, such as most fish caught during a competition and largest cumulative weight caught. If you have suggestions for other categories be sure to join our Discord and share your ideas with us!
The base reward per week is 25,000 $KIBBLE and bolstered further by any funds raising during a fishing competition.
The prize pool for our fishing competition is allocated in a way that benefits both players and the ecosystem. Here is how the prize pool is divided:
30% to Players: Awarded to the players. This ensures that the participants receive substantial rewards for their efforts and achievements in the game.
70% to Ecosystems: This portion is dynamically allocated to support various ecosystem needs such as Supermarket funds, Token burnings or the Treasury.
The top 10 players receive special recognition and rewards based on their placement. Here is a detailed breakdown of the prizes for the top 10 placements:

1st | 40 |
2nd | 20 |
3rd | 10 |
